The Principle of Floral Arrangements
Rules and regulations have no place in flower arrangement and what will appeal to one person may not please another, but there are a few helpful guidelines.
1.Over arrangement flowers are not restful to the eyes, let simplicity and a natural look be your guide.
2. Always use flowers in their various stages of development – buds, half-open flowers and open flowers.
3.Flowers will need to be of different lengths – no two flowers of the same length should be next to each other. Have an “in and out” effect rather than a flat level appearance.
4.Set the vase or container in the correct position before starting.
5.Try to arrange the flowers at the height at which they are to stand, by lowering or raising the vase or container you will get a different view of the flowers, so do the arrangement in the permanent position if you can.
