1. Always look at the flowers from the side as well as at the front to see that they stand well in the vase or container.
2. Allow the flowers to flow over the rim of the vase or container, coming well out at the front.
3. All stems should radiate from a centre point. Make use of curved stems, placing them in such a way that they flow from the vase or container naturally.
4. One or two stems should point slightly backwards to give the arrangement a less flat look and make all difference to the vase or container.
5. The area of wire netting at the back of these stems should be covered with a few short pieces of foliage to make it appear tidy and finished.
6. On occassions, the vase or container may be almost as important as the flowers themselves, particularly when you have just a few flowers to be arranged elegantly.
