Useful Guidelines For Floral Arrangements
- Always look at the flowers from the side as well as at the front to see that they stand well in the vase or container.
- Allow the flowers to flow over the rim of the vase or container, coming well out at the front.
- All stems should radiate from a centre point. Make use of curved stems, placing them in such a way that they flow from the vase or container naturally.
- One or two stems should point slightly backwards to give the arrangement a less flat look and make all difference to the vase or container.
- The area of wire netting at the back of these stems should be covered with a few short pieces of foliage to make it appear tidy and finished.
- On occassions, the vase or container may be almost as important as the flowers themselves, particularly when you have just a few flowers to be arranged elegantly.
